The prize is granted annually to outstanding individuals in the fields of painting, sculpture, architecture, engraving, and composition, as proposed by the respective sections of the Academy. The legacy of this support continues today, thanks to the dedication of Pierre Cardin's nephew, Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin.
