Prix Pierre Cardin en musique de l'Académie des beaux-arts
Luis Quintana received the esteemed Pierre Cardin prize in music composition in 2022 from the Fine Arts Academy in France.
This prestigious award, established in 1993 by the late Academy member Pierre Cardin (1922-2020), aims to foster and recognize exceptional talent across different artistic disciplines. The prize is granted annually to outstanding individuals in the fields of painting, sculpture, architecture, engraving, and composition, as proposed by the respective sections of the Academy. The legacy of this support continues today, thanks to the dedication of Pierre Cardin's nephew, Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin.

Winner of BNMI's 10th Annual Commissioning Competition
The piece Débris d'instant furtifs (for bass clarinet, viola and percussion) was awarded the commission prize from the Boston New Music Initiative. As a result of this, Luis will be writing a piece to be premiered in 2023.

Transient Canvas Composition Fellow
Luis Quintana was selected as a fellow to write a piece for the duo Transient Canvas. This fellowship is made possible in part thanks to the generous support of Jonathan Aibel and Julie Rohwein, as well as grants from The Alice M Ditson Fund and the Boston Cultural Council, Administered by the Mayor’s office of Arts and Culture.
